... Or for that matter cheat the system by skipping 3/4 of it to get to the bit you want.

Heck.... I dragged my Canthan Assassin from Lion's Arch through Kryta, Maguuma Jungle, the Crystal Desert and all the way to Drok's Forge the long way JUST to get my hands on Illusionary Weaponry and Spiteful Spirit (then go back to Cantha and continue the missions where I'd left off... with better skills). Do I regret it? Not a bit. It was fun... y'know?

I think you just described why you leveled so fast.

Mmm Heroes...

One of the better things about Factions characters is that the oppurtunity to nip over to Elona and pick up the Hero possé comes pretty early... Its then just a matter of levelling them up to 20 in Bukdek Byway and Wajjun Bazaar. Well.... almost.... Having a Skill Hunter character already (or a lot of PvPing for Balth points) helps the skill-set of the heroes massively.

The very notion of having that taken away from us would be horrific.

my main character is prophecies (a Necro). I have a mesmer in Riverside province...probably will be my last prophecies charter... I still long for presearing, but don't have the time to level at that pace. The skill quests have the mechanic that I like...what was more challenging than clearing out those stome summit dwarves between yak's bend and beacons perch?

For new characters, I have a ranger and a monk I am working on (Nightfall) in order to have options other than necro for tombs, UW, FOW, DOA, Urgotz...it would be nice to go back to tyria nd pick up the old skill quests if you really had the time

I only have one factions character that has made off the island...i tried an assassin and a monk...not a fan of the factions campaign in general...the 10,000 faction allegiance quests were a bit for me to chew with my necro..at least with sunspear points, I got most of what I needed from the island.

I started before factions yet I do agree with the OP to a certain point. I would say a middle line between Nightfall and Factions, just let tyria be slow.

What about the people who want to exploit as many mechanics as possible to gain suvivor?
